[edit] Welcome

Imaginopedia is an online encyclopedia which encourages users to collaboratively create an alternative set of "facts" based on the imagination. Imaginopedia celebrates the freedom of the imagination and is an attempt to foster a space that challenges the idea that:
  • only facts are real and
  • only real things are useful.

[edit] How To Get Started

1. Log In

As long as you have an account and are logged in, you can create new content and/or edit existing content.

2. Find A Link You Like!

Any link you see can be clicked on. Find a link that you like and click on it. The link will lead you to an existing article or to a blank page that is waiting for someone (you!) to start an article.

3. Click the "edit" tab

You may need to click the "edit" tab at the top of the page you arrive at to get into the editing mode for that page.

4. Preview

When you are done, you should scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "Preview."

5. Make Changes if Necessary

Check over your entry, make changes if needed and then preview again.

6. Save

Once you are satisfied with your entry, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "Save."

7. Editing the Front Page

You can also edit most of the front page. On the front page, there are 5 main sections that each have "edit" links. You can click on the "edit" link and change the content of the section partially or completely!

8. Start a New Entry via Address Bar

If you want to create a new page from scratch, just change the URL in the address bar in your browser (look to top of the screen for long text box). Delete all of the text after the equals sign (=) and type in a name for your new page.

Example: if you type "http://www.imaginopedia.com/index.php?title=Rain_in_Spain" in the address bar, you will be taken to a new page that you could create / edit called "Rain in Spain."

9. Start a New Entry via Bracketing

You can also put [[ ]] symbols around anyword and it becomes a link to a new entry about that word. Try it.
