yeah, i know, we try, but our roomate is pretty non-understanding of other people's rat fear and digust. and he cant smell their smell. he vacumns, lights incense, and thinks thats enough. we have tried to get him to send them off to his girlfriend but he wont. hopefully we will find someone who realizes the room will be pretty ok once the rats leave and it is steam cleaned a couple of times...otherwise ill guess we will all move.

good luck with your new place

he got the rats a few months after he moved in. he didnt directly ask, but we were basically ok with it, expecting that they would mostly stay in their cage and he would keep it all clean. But they didnt stay in their cage. he began to let them sleep with him sometimes and they would run around his room when he was there and not there. and then the room started to smell cause they would go to the bathroom on his bed/rug/cage and maybe rats have bo. they also started eating our internet cables that are connected in there. im pretty sure they dont run around quite as often or as freely now after our repeated attempts to get him to better control his rats and reduce the smell of his room. he did begin to vacumn fairly often. but he still has little sympathy or belief that the ratness is making it more difficult and perhaps impossible for us to rent the room. he is not a terrible person, but he is not a very caring or conciencious or aware person. and he stangely doesn't like the smell of most food cooking, thinks it smells gross and complains, yet he doesnt think his room smells...
